Principal's Message

Ocean Township High School strives to provide students with the necessary critical thinking skills to attain academic achievement in a college preparatory curriculum. The administrators, teachers, parents, and community members work collaboratively to provide students with the tools necessary to develop career goals and plans. All the while, the students’ high school experience affords them the opportunity to explore their social and emotional development and personal interests and strengths. Ocean Township High School students are encouraged to become civic minded, contributing members of their community prepared to face the challenges of our global society.

The teachers of OTHS are committed to delivering rigorous instruction at every level. The teachers take pride in the academic success of their students and are directly responsible for our ranking, once again, among the nation’s top high schools as reported in Newsweek Magazine.

In an effort to provide our high achieving students the opportunity to earn transferrable college credit, Ocean Township High School has established a dual credit program with Monmouth University and a dual enrollment program with Brookdale Community College. We offer seven courses approved by Monmouth University, which upon successful completion of the approved courses OTHS students will receive a college transcript listing the course and the credit earned. Students ahead in their high school credits may be released from school to attend classes at Brookdale Community College allowing them to earn up to 12 college credits their senior year. In addition, Ocean will offer twenty-one advanced placement courses approved by the College Board.

Offering forty-four athletic teams and forty extracurricular clubs including a stellar performing arts program complete with drama, vocal and instrumental music, and dance, Ocean Township High School provides a wide array of programs that appeal to students and allow them to further develop their personal strengths and interests. Character development is crucial during these four years of high school. Our dedicated teachers, coaches and advisors work tirelessly to instill in students the value of hard work and commitment. Through these activities, students learn about our Big Red tradition and Spartan pride.

Our students demonstrate on a daily basis their commitment to academic achievement, their potential for college and career success, their caring and concern for those less fortunate than themselves, and their strength of character. Ocean Township High
School students truly are inspiring adolescents.
